In an official statement, Major General Qassim Hussein, Minya governor, announced that unknown persons were targeted for Coptic buses on their way back from the monastery of Anba Samuel in the center of Al-Adwa. The incident resulted in the death of 7 and injuring 13 citizens so far.
The Coptic Orthodox Church confirmed that one of the buses carrying Coptic pilgrims visiting the Monastery of Saint Samuel Almoofar - Magaghah - Minya governorate was attacked near the monastery area, resulting in the deaths of martyrs and wounded.
The International Human Rights Commission condemned the attack on a bus near the monastery of Anba Samuel in Minya.
